BOOM! Studios on Monday gave fans a preview of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1, which hits shelves later this month.
The new comic is being released in partnership with IDW, Nickelodeon and Paramount Consumer Properties. It is a follow-up to the five-issue miniseries from 2019, which spawned several Lightning Collection toy releases.
Former Mighty Morphin Power Rangers scribe Ryan Parrott returns for this issue, as do artist Dan Mora, colorist Raúl Angulo, and letterer Ed Dukeshire.
The new series takes place several months after the rangers and turtles defeated Rita and Shredder. A new threat forces them to team up once more.
Main cover art is by Mora, with variants by Bon Bernardo (Mighty Morphin), Miguel Mercado (Magic), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Simone Di Meo (We Only Find Them When They’re Dead), Ejikure (Something is Killing the Children), Taurin Clarke (Grim), Jenny Frison (Wonder Woman), Bjorn Barends (Stuff of Nightmares), InHyuk Lee (Venom), and more.
The four main covers by Mora connect with one another. Look out for a double gatefold variant. Every issue in this series will have a special variant by "Ninja Turtles" co-creator Kevin Eastman and artist Freddie Williams II. A Deluxe Edition variant cover will feature art by Williams, one of 10 trading cards and an exclusive print.
