Rangercast Episode 99: On Location @ Otakon 2008 Part 2 (Where Did My Weekend Go?)
Tyler scrounges together the audio that didn't implode when his recorder failed him to bring an account of the behind-the-scenes hilarity that made Otakon awesome this year. Also appearing here and there. in this episode with Tyler and Mike are Gerald Rathkolb, Daryl Surat, and Kara Dennison. Let's do this.

Oh, and a shoutout to the Japanator crew, who I hung out with a couple times during the con, and who I was with for the EPIC late-night Bandai panel in which memories were made and serafuku were worn.

Big props to Lucas Park, the musician behind Rangercast's brand new opening theme. WOOT.

Here's the only video I really shot at the con. They're reading a letter from Baltimore mayor Sheila Dixon. As both a Charm City native and an otaku, the whole thing just made me laugh my ass off.

Also, here's a Youtube video that man was not meant to see...

Who the hell are those guys up there? >_>

And I leave you with this epic moment of win.

Next time on Rangercast: Episode 100, marking three years of kicking ass. It's gonna be a hell of a party.

Edit: If this episode sounds like it was mixed *really* quiet, I know. I can't for the life of me figure out why, but I think I need to give Garage Band a good kick. Sorry about that.

Rangercast Episode 98: On Location @ Otakon 2008 Part 1- I Love You, Frank Zappa
Yeah, Otakon was AMAZING this year. So amazing, I basically collapsed Monday night when all was said and done from sheer exhaustion. Hence the slight delay in getting this out to you guys. Trust me though, it's worth the wait.

This year, our Otakon coverage is in two parts. In this episode, we have not one, but two celebrity chats. The first is a one-on-one interview with the one and only Tony Oliver. We chat about what's up with his PR documentary, what it was like to hang out with the fandom at Otakon, and what's up with all those Garo rumors.

Then we have some audio from a press conference with EPIC Japanese band JAM Project. Where would you know them from? Lots of places. They made Otakon their US stop on the World Flight 2008 No Border Tour as they rocked 1st Mariner Arena to its core with hot-blooded awesomeness.

Part II is coming soon, complete with the banter of the weekend, a discussion of what happened, and Mazinger Z on ukelele.

And pics? We haz them. Special shoutout to Dan Park, for using his super-special contest-prize third row seat to get us some awesome JAM photos at the concert.

Oh, and notice the donation counter over there? Yeah, you guys are AWESOME. And remember what I said about prizes? Here's what I've got:
PRJF Animalized Red Ranger figure
PROO re-released Mighty Morphin' Red Ranger
Kamen Rider Den-O combo (one Kintaros figure, one Narikiri Set with the belt, DenGasher, a Rider Pass, and a sticker)
